Sideline Coverage
DMOS Physicians have provided sideline coverage for local High Schools, Colleges, local sports teams and locally sponsored athletic events in the Des Moines metro area for 20+ years. "I enjoy providing sideline coverage for football games and working with high school athletes from all sports for a variety of musculoskeletal complaints," remarks Barron Bremner, D.O., who provides coverage at Johnston High School. "Injuries are scary for athletes and parents alike, and it is important to have coaches, parents, athletic trainers and physicians on the same page regarding treatment, possible outcomes, and return to sport. In addition to the satisfaction received from volunteering, I also enjoy getting to know the many Johnston families with which I have had contact," Bremner continues.
Our physicians work closely with local Athletic Trainers and other Physicians providing sideline coverage to triage sports injuries effective and appropriately. The open communication among athletes, physicians, athletic trainers and parents is most important to facilitate rehabilitation, recovery and a safe return to competition timely.
DMOS Physicians also volunteer their time to provide coverage of High School State Tournaments, Junior Olympics, USA Soccer Tournaments, and more.
As an extension of our services DMOS offers a Sports Injury Assessment Clinic Monday – Friday, 7:15 – 8 a.m. The service is also available on Saturdays during the fall sports season.
