Hand therapists are an integral part of the continuum of care often starting treatment within days of an injury or surgery. Together with physicians and surgeons, a qualified hand therapist can identify problems and effectively rehabilitate the patient as they return to work and a productive lifestyle. Our staff includes certified hand therapists who have undergone additional training in regards to the treatment and management of upper extremity disorders.
At DMOS the Hand Therapy Clinic is located within the same facilities as the hand surgeon's clinic allowing excellent continuity of care and communication with the surgeons. Services provided include splinting, modalities (such as ultrasound, heat, TENS), and exercise programs to improve motion and strength. We treat a wide variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to, cumulative trauma, arthritis, fractures and tendon injuries of clients of all ages.
Physician referrals are required and are accepted from any area physician. For more information please contact the Iowa Methodist Hand Therapy clinic at (515) 224-5227. Fax (515) 224-5231.
