Whatever the playing field, whatever the injury, athletes can trust the specialists at DMOS to get them back in the game. DMOS doctors have proudly provided sideline coverage for local High Schools, Colleges, local sports teams and locally sponsored athletic events in the Des Moines metro area for 30+ years.
"I enjoy providing sideline coverage for football games and working with high school athletes from all sports for a variety of musculoskeletal complaints," remarks Barron Bremner, D.O., who provides coverage at Johnston High School. "Injuries are scary for athletes and parents alike, and it is important to have coaches, parents, athletic trainers and physicians on the same page regarding treatments, possible outcomes and the return to sports. In addition to the satisfaction received from volunteering, I also enjoy getting to know the many Johnston families with which I have had contact," Bremner continues.
Our doctors work closely with local Athletic trainers and other doctors to best treat sports injuries, from the common to the complex. Athletes of all ages and skill levels can return to their sports safely, with a renewed confidence in their ability to compete. Whether an injury happens before, during or after the game, our team of orthopaedic specialists are on hand to provide patients with the most comprehensive care possible with an advanced level of experience and expertise.
DMOS doctors also volunteer their time to provide coverage to High School State Tournaments, Junior Olympics, USA Soccer Tournaments, Iowa Games, and more.
One area of passion for DMOS is the DMOS Cycling Team, which was founded in part by Dr. Bob Breedlove and has since been a staple in the DMOS culture. Dr. Breedlove passed away while cycling in 2005, but his memory lives on with the DMOS cycling team enthusiasts carrying on the rich cycling tradition.
