Biography
Kara Powell, an Iowa native from Ankeny, is a Physical Therapist at our Des Moines office. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at The University of Iowa before obtaining her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University.
Kara found her way into physical therapy after experiencing multiple injuries and surgeries of her own. Having spent significant time as a patient, she understands the challenges and emotions that come with recovery. That personal journey allows her to connect deeply with her patients to provide care rooted in empathy, encouragement, and real-life experience.
Kara’s philosophy is that each patient has individualized, evidence-based care with an emphasis on improving movement quality and empowering patients to achieve meaningful, long-lasting results.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys working out, baking, spending time with her husband, their cats, and their friends and family.
