DMOS Orthopaedic Centers Expands Access with New Norwalk Facility
The new location strengthens care delivery for the growing South Des Moines metro and Norwalk communities, marked by a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 13.
NORWALK, Iowa (August 18, 2026) — DMOS Orthopaedic Centers announced the grand opening of its new Norwalk facility last Thursday. Located at 1200 Turnberry Road, the location expands local access to orthopedic care for patients across the southern part of the Des Moines metro and the rapidly growing Norwalk community.
Patients will find expert care closer to home at DMOS Norwalk, with orthopedic physician offices, a walk-in urgent injury clinic, physical and hand therapy, and sports medicine on-site.
“Up to this point, Norwalk residents had to travel for orthopedic care,” said Dr. Nicholas Honkamp. “Our new facility brings specialized services directly to their community. It’s exciting to know we’ll be able to save our patients time and get them back to living sooner.”
The new facility reflects DMOS’s continued investment in meeting patients closer to where they live and work, reducing travel time and improving access to high-quality specialty care. As the Norwalk area continues to grow, the demand for convenient, timely orthopedic services has followed. This new location is designed to meet this need.
“For more than 70 years, DMOS has been committed to caring for our communities,” said DMOS CEO Rich Green. “The Norwalk facility is another step toward ensuring quality orthopedic care is accessible to our friends, family and neighbors.”
The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 13, followed by an open house for invitees. The event offered an opportunity for community members and partners to tour the new facility and learn more about available services.
The DMOS Norwalk facility is now open and accepting patients. To schedule an appointment or see current wait times for the urgent injury care walk-in clinics, visit www.dmos.com.

The new DMOS Norwalk facility expands access to comprehensive orthopedic care and specialized services for patients in Norwalk and surrounding communities.

DMOS CEO Rich Green, joined by surgeons Dr. Brian Handal, Dr. Christopher Dickinson, Dr. Chris Nelson, and Dr. Taylor Den Hartog, cut the ribbon during the grand opening celebration of the new DMOS Norwalk facility on Aug. 13.
